    Default car died while driving

Driving home yesterday car simply died while going down the road without warning. Threw it in neutral restarted and it refired. Drove another mile and a half and it popped backfired and tried to die again spitting and carrying on the died again and would not restart. Pulled it home with a pal and tried to start again and it fired right up. I suspect a fuel problem what do you guys think?

I always start with the same thing when I have no clue... start with fuel pressure. Make sure ur getting proper fuel pressure and once that is confirmed we can go from there.

Also...did it just DIE... or has it been progressively getting harder to start... have u noticed any stumbles or anything not "healthy" recently???

I had the same thing happen to me. Ended up being a broken wire to the coil. I'd check fuel pressure then see if you can start it and wiggle the harness that runs to the ICM and coil and see if that makes it cut out. If so, you have a bad connection. The parts stores can check the ICM's too, but be sure they check them like 4-5 times in a row so you know that it still works even when its warmed up.

Its the ICM and the coilwiggles around inside its steel bracket. I'm replacing them both.
