    Default new cam setup advise

I have a AI cam 230/234 565/575 112lsa, comp 918 valve springs, comp r lifters.. the heads are stock casting 93 heads and are at the machine shop getting ported, probed, and polished, mounting hardware and replacing the 1.50 valves with 1.60s... i know its a pretty big cam but for what i have in it i couldnt not put it in.. but first question is does AI spec cams on a stock rocker or 1.6 rockers and 2nd will i have any piston to valve clearance issues??

No you should be fine, I'm not sure if they spec with 1.5 or 1.6, should say on cam card. We have 1.6 on a LE cam with .592/592 lift 228/234 duration with le2 heads. Car is a fun street car

My 2 cents with that cam... Build a forged 383 itll have better manners than a 355!!! Use the Lightest good parts you can find for a N/A combo & youll have a Big Shit eatin grin on your face

That cam would be small for a 383

Thanks guys for the reply .. i finally figured out the cams spec'd on 1.6 rockers, anyone wanna guestimate the power range of this cam? I have the rev limiter set for 6300 and what size injectors would be best to run with a pretty much h/c/i car

    36lbers will do.

Also, 1.6" valves in a stock exhaust seat is too big. The throat of a stock seat is the restriction, not the valve. You're better off with 1.56" valves because the larger ones will only shroud the chamber and stick out more.
