Comfort with ur weapon is not what it is either. I dont get it. Experience and training...dicipline... that is where it is and at 19... its not there. Thats where the previous exceptions for military points were made as an exception, or what SHOULD be an exception. Proficience...and comfort with the weapon will not do anything for u in a shoot/dont shoot situation.

    You have no idea... NONE.

The fact that u cant pick up.what im laying down proves thay even more.
Im not gonna go round and round with u. U dont get it. ur state allows it... good luck... wish u the best.

Hope u never get put in the situation cause I have No faith in u making the right decision.

The instructor in my conceled carry class had us watch that video first thing. The biggest thing he stressed is that while a CCP gave you the privilege of being able to defend yourself in a life threatening event, it alone would not prepare us for the reality of actually having to use it. Much like how a drivers license gives a person the privilege of operating an automobile, only practice and real world experience would determine how well you react "under the circumstances".

That can come at any age. I witnessed a clown in his 30's shoot himself in the leg while at the range because he was being a dumbass dancing around trying to get a hot shell out of the back of his shirt, holstered his weapon and pulled the trigger. I used to go shooting with a friend of mine's kids who were in their teens and the discipline they both had when it came to handling firearms was always top notch. Age is not always a factor.

I understand the point of always practicing and taking a defense class or being able to have the opportunity to fire at targets while moving from cover to cover, however the real point of that video is to try and convey the message that carrying a gun is bad. Just like the clerk who was shooting at a bad person "while he was running away." So when someone who is armed is running away you should stop shooting? So they can go around the corner, gather themselves and come back in? Total horse shit. I also like how they make those who are in the classroom setting wear gloves, as if that won't interfere with the already bad situation with trying to draw a concealed firearm when under stress. Of course if you are going to carry IWB it will be extremely difficult to quick draw it and the best thing to do is to practice, but it still has its limitations and every gun owner who carries like that should understand that.

    I'll just leave this here:

And no...the point of the video chris posted is not that guns are bad. It is that shooting at the range and proficience and comfort with the weapon is still NOT ENOUGH.

As for the point ur making...no arguing with that. Fools come in any age... in any career....

However the point of carrying concealed for self defense and having that permit is not enough... when added to the fresh age of 19... responsibility and the other tools needed are just not established (again where the military exceptions conversation had come up earlier)...

Also... quick draw and practicing that is great... but thw average shmo does not practice that while being shot at (simulated of course)... which is where the reality of self defense carrying is.

Meh, I won't be too quick to judge any one person who carries as a teen. I'd rather do so after seeing how they handle themselves with a firearm.
