small batteries
Does anybody run small batteries for like a riding lawn mower or something to reduce weight on the front of the vehicle? Or does anybody know how low I can go with the cranking amps to start up

You don't need a lot of CCA's to start a car when it's warm out. Only when it gets cold out. Even a high compression engine can be started with a small battery if you have the right parts in place. The difference between using say a big Optima battery versus a small Braille is the capacity. If your car doesn't start in 30 seconds you'll suck one of those small batteries dry. Not typically a problem for a fuel injected car, but you also can't run a fan or circulate your water pump with a small battery. I've run those small batteries for years along with a Powermaster gear reduction starter. If you are looking for every last bit of ET then run a tiny battery, and swap it for a regular battery for street use.
I ran this one for 2 or 3 years. Ran it bone-dry about 10-15 times (had a small draw), always took a charge. Finally cracked one of the terminal ends from taking it off and on a bunch of times so I had to replace it.

It's listed at 170 CCA's which is about as low as i've seen a battery rated at.'94 coupe, 10.15 at 133.65 414" LT1, 4500 stall, n/a, pump gas, mufflers, street trim
