I've been to an accident where the whole front suspension was ripped outta the car and the guy was still trying to start the car. People do weird shit when in shock or under the influence.

Exactly. I saw a small p/u get broadsided by someone running a red light, spun them around twice. Fortunately for driver and passenger the red light runner, who was in a f-250 hauling an empty trailer, hit about a foot behind them in the bed. Truck who hit them was doing approximately 50mph. I ran up to them and they were both dazed wondering what had just happened. The truck was still running and driver was trying to put it into gear. I had the break it to him that his driveshaft was laying on the ground, turn the engine off and just relax. They both thought I was the one who hit them.

Amazingly. ..that ford took it and was totally driveable.
