This is what greeted me when I got home. Saw horizontally rotating clouds and have seen enough tornado documentaries and chased enough to know it was only a Matter of time before it went vertical. I was 5 miles from my parents house and I told them to be ready to go down stairs. With in 7-14 mins the tornado sirens went off.

Our crops got decimated. uploadfromtaptalk1405056333095.jpg for those of you city folks they r not supposed to look like this. uploadfromtaptalk1405056409437.jpg this is today afternoon when the bulk of the mess was cleared. Numerous pivots were toppled and trees up to 3 ft wide also. Cows were found dead on the interstate but not from tipped cattle haulers but rather they suspect at least a ef2 that never fully got its act together. News claimed 85+ straight line winds too. My buddy got pelted with golf ball sized hail too. The crops were taken out by quarter size hail.

My dad lost 600 acres to total loss. Thank God for insurance. If I could attach a vid via tapatalk I would show a video of the damage as I drove by. Feel free to post weather pics and stories here.

Damn man I'm sorry to hear that. Weather holds no mercy, which sucks.

Pivots ain't cheap to fix, hopefully the insurance will pay out enough to cover your field losses

uploadfromtaptalk1405363937479.jpguploadfromtaptalk1405363968310.jpguploadfromtaptalk1405363992948.jpg the first pic is from that night and the next 2 r from yesterday when I was home and got blasted awake by the tornado warning app on my phone. But yes pivots aren't cheap one buddy had his replacement up for a week before this took it down again. Luckily dad had insurance but some others didnt.
