By "biggest" do you mean widest?
For street tires, many people run 17x9.5" (offset in the range of 45 - 56mm) in the front with a 275/40-17, and 17x11.0" 50mm offset in the back, with a 315/35-17. You could also look at 18" variations on this - 18x9.5 with a 275/35-18 or a 285/35-18 front, and 18x10.5 in the back with a 285/35-18 or a 305/35-18.
The Auto-X guys run the 17x11/315/35-17 combo in the front as well, but it requires a spacer and the tire will be outside the fender.
For drag strip tires, the most popular wheel is a 15x10 with a 7.5" backspace. You can go up to a 28" tire, depending on the brand, tire type (bias-play, radial).
Some minor hammering or trimming may be required with the 11.0" wide wheels.SOLD - GONE TO A (VERY) GOOD HOME ! - 94 Formula A3+1: 381ci forged stroker - Callies Stealth, Oliver 5.85 billet rods, BME nitrous pistons / CNC LT4 heads / CC solid roller / TH400+GearVendors OD / 4.11 Strange 12-bolt / 300-shot N2O / Spohn Suspension / roll bar / MoTeC M48 Pro engine management system /a few other odds 'n ends.
