    @MoeHorsePower thought that but it sounded like this before I replaced the lifters and removed the intake. Possible but no signs of a vacuum leak. @Injuneer no odd wear marks on the rockers or vc's indicating such contact.

    FYI current plan is to go over rockers again this weekend as this did actually effect the sound. Will of course look for any odd wear... can't see this be accessory but may stethescope them just in case header gaskets were inspected fully and sealed great as previously noted. Not looking at them. Rode in a leaky car the other day. Not the same sound.

    I just remember an incident with my 1.6X Pro-Mags/solid roller cam. It took a few months after the engine was put together and run, and I thought it needed a premature valve lash adjustment. It turned out to be a few of the rockers barely touching the stock valve covers. Didn't make that noise for the first few months.

    Have you tried to adjust the valves while it's running.its a little harder but the lifters can't bleed down.

    @tleed sure have...

    anyone think this noise could be a spun rod bearing? I have rechecked the entire valvetrain, all plugs, wires etc... no problem found, no change in noise.

    found this thread that is very similar http://gbodyforum.com/viewtopic.php?...5#.U3uHyfldWSo

    A spun bearing you would have low oil pressure

    50 cold idle and 20-30 hot idle... oil psi. How certain is good oil pressure? To rule out rod bearing?

    Stock or hv pump usually oil pressure will fall off as bearings wear when I spun a bearing oil pressure dropped to about 5 psi at idle but my car still made it all the way home about 10 min away

    That doesn't sound like it. What about valve guides? @tleed

    Usually when guides get real bad the engine will start to pop out of the intake or exhaust or leak oil in the cylinders
