Headers, Custom Lid, Gears, Advice Needed
So my next mods that I plan to do are LT Headers, which ones do you guys have and which ones the best? I was thinking Pacesetter. Next up, CAI , Which ones the best ones, where could i get a custom lid made (LS1 Style , like the SLP) Next, I plan to do gears, I was thinking 3.73's due to the fact that its an Automatic and I plan on leaving the car bolt ons only until I get a daily 4 cylinder and make the lt1 my weekend car since its my daily now. Once I make it my weekend car I plan on doing more major mods to it within time, im not in a hurry at all. I have posted here before and some of you know i'm a full time college student and i'm on a budget Thats why the daily car I get will be just to get me to school and back. A to B car, so i plan on spending 1500 at the most. Also do you guys know of any good shops around the Northwest GA area to install the gears because I don't want just anyone working on my car. What times should I run in the 1/8 with 3.73 gears, lid, headers? I ran 9.30 almost 9.2's with the mods listed in my signature (basically stock) my 60ft was horrible at a best of 2.20

If you are doing 3.73s, you might look into throwing a bigger stall/torque converter in the lineup too. The gears and stall alone will cut a good amount of time off your current one.

I have Pacesetters on my car. They're okay. Less of a gamble than eBay headers but in retrospect I should have gone with something else. Too much $ for a less than perfect fit, lack of finish, and the ORY is low as hell.
Also, if you're going to put headers on it then you should get a good 3" exhaust to go with it. Hooker is the cheapest but I can honestly say I hate the way it sounds. My friend has one on his 95Z with LTs and it sounds like a big rig to me. I've always had the Magnaflow which I think sounds miles ahead. However, I really like the Borla but it's $$$.
Moroso or K&N for CAI, there really isn't a power difference between the two. I grabbed a used Moroso from eBay for $60 a while back. Recharged the filter and it was good to go.96 Z28 - ERE-383, AFRs, 9", Procharger D1, TermiX, etc.

Supporting Memberthe summit longtubes and y are the same as pacesetters but a little cheaper. personally, i have no issues with pacesetters, my car is lowered a bit and they dont hit the ground or anything, just avoid speedbumps.

If you are buying headers, take a look at the option for cera-metallic coating. A quality coating will minimize rust, reduce thermal cycle weld cracking, keep the heat in the primaries and not in the engine compartment, and pick up a couple HP with the improved scavenging.

Thanks for the advice guys but there is a going to be a change in my plan. I will be leaving my car how it is ,which is basically stock til I start my college career. Once I start my college career and buy me a daily I will be doing an LQ9 swap on my 95z,4l80e trans and 9" rear end, big cam,ls6 heads etc. Yes guys i know this going to be extremely expensive but once I start my career i'll be able to the build slowly and buy the parts within time, not in a hurry at all.
