Default 1994 S15 Jimmy 4x4 Lifted Ltx swap

yep, its come to this. after talking to a certain ltx swapped jimmy owner (@ghettogmc23), and also trying to look for another 4.3 and seeing how much of a pain that is, im gonna go for a ltx swap. i was joking about it before i bought the truck on tuesday, joked more about it after driving it this week, and now the motor went today, so eff it.

    this is the truck

just need to find a good condition shortblock or complete, and id like to use a 94 harness.

i know headers are gonna suck since it is 3" bodylifted, but im more concerned about wiring. can i just make the engine harness basically stand alone, since in reality it technically is? keyed on fused power to the harness/pcm, sender signals to gauges from pcm to cluster, fuel pump relay, and basically thats it right?

You got it. But..... you realize it would be much cheaper and reliable to pop another 4.3 in right?

94 is cpi, first attempt at the spyder, not the same as 95 and later or earlier tbi's. the cpi's suck, and that seems to be the reason it toasted. i was starting to think the spyder was dumping fuel by how rich it was running, but i didnt think it was THAT rich. i think it washed it, when i pulled the stick after the knock knock noises it smelled like raw fuel. its a w vin code truck, "vortec" motor.

it would nearly be the same amount of money to clean up the mess of the 4.3 cpi/find a decent complete reman as is to swap a stock ltx in. plus the wife said she would rather have an 8 in it, so i gotta give her what she wants lol.

Exhaust and fuel system mods alone will eclipse the cost of sticking with the 4.3. I'm just warning ya brah. It will be cool but its gonna be a money pit.

This is very true, but the sound and feel of an LTX will make every dollar worth it lol. It's one of those things that has a high cost up front but pays for itself in the long run
