Default To Truck or not to Truck?

Found an awesome truck at a car lot in wv. Was wondering what you guys think of it before I buy.

    11' silverado
    37k miles
    Extended Cab
    37x12.50 nittos with 30% left
    18" wheels
    6" lift
    $25,500

It has small damage on the rear bumper, some scratches, tires will need replaced soon, speedo is off and wheels touch inner fenders when turned hard.

My question is, is there any problems I may run into with such a big lift? What will wear out? I know the tires are gonna be expensive.

And do you think its a good deal?

if its a 1500, transmission with that much rolling mass. also, from a few lifted newer silverado guys i know, they have said they wear out the front control arm bushings, u joints and such quickly with that much lift. food for thought.

but, if i had the cash, id buy it. thats like my dream truck lol

Interesting. Thanks for the information. I like the truck too. They can get my payment down around 400. So I'm just seeing if it's worth it before I buy. I think its awesome. Super clean.

Ive had my share of Silverados and sierras ( 9 I can think of right now. Most of which were lifted. Like said biggest problem is the transmissions. Then again locally a rebuilt 4l60e with new conv and 2 yr warranty can be had for $850. Next to that depending on the lift brand/ design and driving habits, Bushings tie rods and baljoints wear quicker. Haven't had a problem with CV joints personally from a lift but had heard of boots tearing prematurely. The newer body truck like that one can also develop an issue with traction control and abs lights popping up. Something to to with wheel and speed sensors not being within a specific difference of each other. Solved by a computer tune or plug in tuner which also would fix speedo reading and help with mpg. Exhaust, cold air intake and tuner help greatly. Also if it has a 2 PC drive shaft the carrier bearing tends to go out quicker especially if a drop bracket wasn't installed. Watch for a vibration on takeoff. 37s on a 6" lift are going to rub my 35s rub every now and then depending on how the trucks sitting.

My brothers 05 ext cab 5.3 6" lift on 35s gets 16-18 on the freeway still. K&n intake and flow master dual out cat back.

    I have two right now.

    06 2500hd crew 2wd 6.0l 4l80e rcd 8" lift on 35s bilstein 5100 shocks

    And a 99 sierra ext 4x4 4.8 4l80e swap rcd 6" lift on 35s bilstein 5100 shocks

Love me my lifted gm trucks.
