nightshade paint
i used this on my daily driver and it looked good for awhile, but it seems like it starting to fade. anyone put a clear on over this?
with my camaro apart right now i was going to add a slight tint to the turn signals and the tail lights.

How long has it been on your car? I've had mine over a year and no fading. Didn't even sand them. I just cleaned them off with rubbing alcohol.

Kind of depends on what brand you use. Damn near every VHT job I've seen comes out looking dull/needing more work/fading after a short time. I used the Rustoleum brand on a set that came out nice and shiny with decent control of how dark they come out too. Downside to this stuff is you can't really clear it since the clear will effectively wrinkle and thin it.

Best thing to use IS clear with a small amount of black to tint to desired shade. Glossy and doesn't fade.

Yep, I used clear on my tails'. I took them to my buddy that works at an autobody shop and he sprayed them in the booth. They turned out great. So far, so good. No fade, nothin' but shine.

Back in the day we used VHT on all taillights, marjer lights etc. It's all about the way it's applied. All of our customers that wanted that stealthy look on their GNs got the treatment, until a friend of ours showed us a better way by using a gallon of clear and a few onces of clear using a HVLP gun.... that was the best
In your situation i would use a purple scotchbrite pad and lots of water to take off all the old paint and reapply new.
