    When I pulled all the donor parts from this 97 I saw the rust on the cylinder head through the heater core hole. I feared the worst and thought it could have been that baby LT1



    but it was a true LT1

    welp i got a 100% id on the motor now ... and my first guess was right ... junk

    both sides of the block are cracked

    Probably sat over the winter with too much water in the antifreeze. Still has a good rotating assembly and intake.

    so i messaged the guy and showed him the pics and he said that tomorrow he is going to call the shop cause when he bought the motor "pulled running out of a camaro"

    the shop owners impala ss was there with an overheated motor that had iol in the water and water in the oil ... this was a year ago and he thinks the took the motor he bought as a back up/spare was put in the guys impala. and they gave him the kids blown motor.

    i really dont care cause its got a good crank,rods, pistons, and i need those ... i also have another block i can get for $50
