    Default intake elbow question.

I went to Gm parts direct and typed in the 1le intake elbow p/n and it came up with this: http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm

is that the 1le or the normal one for use with the silencer?

The reason im looking at a new one is because my old one tore while i was taking it off to put a plate kit on

Sorry I am on my phone so I can't see the link you posted but have you considered just using an aftermarket elbow? Trick Flow has a nice one.

    That link will not work.

FWIW if you ever go to a larger TB the stock/1le will not work and more than likely tear. Step up to a nice elbow and be done with it.

Maybe the metal elbow is cold because the engine compartment heat is passing through it into the air flowing through it. Aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat. The better the conductor, the lower the outside surface temperature of the elbow will be.

The GM part # for the 1LE elbow is 25147210 (93-94 unvented Opti) or 25147187 (95-97 - has the hole for the vent line to the vented Opti). Enter that in the part # search and you will get the correct part.

I disagree. I have a 1LE elbow on a BBK 58mm TB that has been on and off many times over the years, and it's never torn.

Correct.... the outer flange is the same size on all size throttle bodies for the LT1, at least all the ones I'm aware or, including my Holley 58mm.
