    Default single plane intake setups

okay guys THIS IS NOT A CARB SWAP THREAD.

i want to keep my opti and switch intake styles to a single plane style ... i like the look of a motor with the intake coming from the top.

is there a TB that i can put on a single plane that looks kinda likes a carb but keeps fuel injection?

Yes they make 4brl throttle bodies. You would need to get a carb hat to get a maf on it unless you run speed density.

This may be a stupid question but my car ran the same with or without the mass airflow connected. When I get my motor rebuilt can I just put on the new intake and four barrel throttle body and not hook up a mass airflow sensor?

... Also is there anybody out there who has pictures of this on their car

When the Pcm doesnt see an input from the Maf it resorts to speed density based on the map input

It switches on its own. But it would still need to be tuned for SD.

I don't know about you. But if I unplug my maf. My rpm goes up 100 at idle.

In tunercat there is a box you can select to keep it in SD.

And tosses a code, you will need a dedicated SD tune.

To be blunt, if you are asking about if the MAF and if it will "automatically" use MAP, you probably don't need the single plane for your build.

Just saying, cause its a heft investment for little return if your build doesn't need one. But, here is a picture of mine.

I do not run the MAF, but left it cause I am poor and what not.
