    Default PONYETR build thread.

    uploadfromtaptalk1376098236756.jpg

    Before I bought it. http://m299.photobucket.com/albums/balboalt1/

PONYETR, soon to be ZOHAN, known to me as Vanessa, came into my life in June of 2008. 1995 silver hard top formula with 75k miles. Bought her out of Tx with:

    Ported LT4 setup,
    K&N cai
    Pacesetter long tubes
True duals w/ dynomax flo flo dumped
    Moser 12 w/ 3:73
    Built t56
    Walbro 255 in tank
    42lb injectors
Baer track kit up front w/ 12"? Rotors
Lowered on Bilstein shocks and Hotchkis springs
    17x9.5 & 17x11 TT2's
And the reason I got a good deal on it, a high speed vibration and reverse gear going out...

I daily drove her for about 3-4 months untill I was able to get something cheap and keep the miles off it.

Spent a good bit of money and a ton of time trying to chase down the vibration. After having the driveshaft checked multiple times, trans gone through, (reverse needed fixed anyway), new ram clutch to make sure, and a few other things, it ended up being the dampener on the drive shaft. I was not happy.

I left it as it was making a fun 400whp for quite awhile. Added an MSD 6AL2 w/ 2 step after awhile, and kept on driving. Had other toys so didn't wanna do tear downs and a bunch of other money in it.

Dec? Of 2010, since i had sold my chopper, I decided I wanted to go a little faster, so bought everything to throw a 100-125 wet shot at it. Upon install I noticed I had a small head gasket leak in the back. Ok, lets get at it.
    uploadfromtaptalk1376098291599.jpg

Upon changing the head gasket, a couple people kept joking around that I should just supercharge it, well, the idea kind stuck and I started tentatively looking around. Found a couple that were ok, and ending up finding a brand new (from 97) p600b kit. Guy bought it for his lingenfelter 95 TA, but before he ever put it on, LS came out and he bought a new lingenfelter. So the blower kit went on the shelf till I bout it in early 2011. Here's where the fun really started!

    ADDED: 9/12/13

Well I had a ton of pics from the procharger install, the custom FMIC setup I built, the twin 255 in tank setup I built, custom fuel lines and rails, line lock/abs delete, but most look like they are going to be unrecoverable.

So after the long install of the p600 and all the other upgrades, it put down right at 550hp, and like 510ft lbs on 7psi IIRC. Had it running for awhile playing with the tune trying to get it running right. We finally figured it out and it was a blast to drive. Even dailyed it for a week or so when my honda starter went out.

One of the first times I had it at the track once the tune was right was 2012, best was 11.61 @ 122 with the clutch not holding the power and learning to launch. Spun through it a couple times that day. A week later came back home to wichita and had a killer DA, dropped down to an 11.41 @ 123 (clutch still not acting right) launching at 4500 off my MSD 6AL2 two step on 12 psi in the MT ET Streets.

Was giving it about 45-60 min between runs so everything could cool. Towards the end of the night I screwed up my launch so I went straight back the the staging area to get one last good run. Didn't end so well.

    http://m.youtube.com/results?q=formu...24.B8OC3Mh6jBQ

Putted it around a couple times since the clutch and flywheel were most likely toast, and decided I wanted to swap in a 2 bar MAP sensor to help with idling since that was the one thing that sucked and made it not fun to drive. Swapped in in, and during tuning, got it good, made some power, that night broke the ring landings off two pistons... So it set in my drive for a few months cause I didn't feel like even looking at it. Finially got it in the garage, start ed tearing it down, and doing what needed to be done.

Been a long process getting the new motor built but its almost done. It is a 383 with:
    Ohio crankshaft forged crank
    Eagle forged H beam rods
SRP forged pistons dished to 21cc.
    Ported lt4 heads and intake
    Custom grind bullet cam

In the process of the tear down, I sold my p600b setup and also my t56. I decided if I was going to spend all this money, I didn't want something holding me back. If any of you have heard of him from that "other site", I bought STANGKILR's PTC built th400 with billet internals and trans brake.

I also bought a universal twin turbo kit from a member here. Was told it was twin 58's, then later found out it was twin 51's. Which will still be fun but doubt they'll be big enough to make the numbers I was planning on. I am again going to build a custom FMIC, possibly using pieces of the piping that came with it, and maybe chopping up the headers that came with it to build custom log manifolds to mount the turbos where I want.

Since everything was out, I removed all wiring and prepped the engine bay for paint as well as shaving any extra holes and a couple seams and also rad support.
Including new k member, upper, and lower A arms. You can also see the AC delete plate I built and will prob fab more and sell if anyone is interested for $50.

Ill go ahead and post it now, and come back and add more in a bit.

Sounds like a really nice car, looking forward to seeing it done. Did the guys that built it originally take it on Power Tour and to one of the first LTX shoot outs? That car looks really familiar, Dallas area when you first bought it right?

Yup. His name was Matt Head. McKinney, just outside of dallas. He had it in I believe the 05 power tour. I took the sticker off after I bought it since I hadnt taken it. I know he had done some talking on camaroz28.com (where I found the car) about the shootout. So I believe he took it to the first/first couple.
