Id have to disaggree with your last comment. If your blowing black smoke then id run a fuel pressure test just to make sure your fuel pressure regulator is doing what's it supposed to be doing.......regulating how much fuel your car is getting. Just what id do.

FPS does not regulate fuel at WOT. It runs by vacuum therefore since there's no vacuum at WOT the FPR is wide open. Depending on how much black smoke it's usually perfectly normal. If it's cause for concern then go back to your turner and have him look at the O2's on the dyno.

With no vacuum the FPR should hold the rail pressure at 43.5psi (assuming it's a stocker, or an AFPR that you set to that pressure). It's there to regulate the differential pressure across the injectors (rail pressure minus manifold gauge pressure).
