    Default Play in steering wheel

So after two years of sitting I finally decided to bring the bird out. New battery and starter and it fired right up. Checked the fluids and everything checked out so decided to go for a spin. The steering wheel had a ton of play turning it left and right. Not quite from 11-1 o'clock but it seemed like a lot. Having had time to look into it much but didn't know if anyone else has had this problem.

Check the rag joint int the steering shaft under the hood. They wear out and cause slop in the steering wheel. Common fix is the rag joint eliminator kit or this.

Check and see if the play is in the rag joint. If it isn't, rack time. Mine has the same thing and I'm sick of fighting it. Baddass93TA's was the same while I was working on it and it was perfect after a new rack.

If it is the rag joint ans you decide not to switch to the LS shaft, this is the eliminator mentioned above: http://www.unbalancedengineering.com/Camaro/

I just put in a shaft I got from a ltx'r that has the eliminator and man it it soooo much better. My steering was very sloppy. Rag joint is 20 years old and gets cooked by my headers.
