    Default A4 to M6 questions

Finishing up getting everything I need for the swap. I have a 700r4 currently.

Will I need a new harness? Will it need to be a complete engine harness?

Thats the only concern at this moment.

Negative. You can use part of the old a4 harness for the VSS, and if you have an m6 PCM, (I forget which wire) you can feed the reverse lockout right off of one of the existing wires as well. There are just alot of extra wires you need to tie up out of the way. Definitely don't NEED an m6 harness tho. Mine still has the A4 harness and has been a six speed for a few years This is the link I based my swap on, a good read:

Just wire the neutral safety switch from the a4 shifter to the brake pedal area, and if the pedals don't already have one, eBay a neutral safety switch. Cheap

What year is your car? Do you know if I have to do anything more for it being a 700r4 vs 4l60e?

Mine is a '95, if yours is a '93 (700R4) there may be things I don't know about....the autos had small changes every year on the 4th gens it seems. If yours was or (is) a '95, I could walk you though the entire process. I'm sure the mechanics are all basically the same, but there might be certain little things that could be a bit different; wouldn't want to steer you wrong. What year t-56 also?

Edit: just checked your sig, it is a 93 lol. It really should be the same, but tell me this, does the original Trans have a TV cable? And any possibility you can get a pic of the trans electrical connector?

What year t56 are you putting in? If its 94+ you'll need to wire in a Dakota digital speedo recalibration box since 93's VSS have a different pulse rate. When I did the swap I wired in the reverse light connector but never did the lockout solenoid, just muscle it a bit.

Yes it has a tv cable.

    The t56 is out of a 94.

I already have a Dakota ditigal box since I went from 2.73s to 3.42s.

do you fellas know anyone that sells a complete stock rebuild kit? I know the gearbox website does but they won't be back open until August. I want to have it done by then.
