There easy to change it. Once you get the intake manifold off. OP Get a GM melonized gear. Its what GM suggests useing whenever you do a cam swap. I was stupid and didnt realize that until after my LT1 chewed through 2 came gears. The first was the stock 180k mile gear and the next was the POS! Lunati Everwear. I had the dreaded stamped 13 unit. Which if you do research on was a bad batch from the manufacturer.

I will probably order this GM melonized gear and the GMPP LS7 lifters.

That is the way you should do it. Chuck it in and drive it. Hopefully it wont strip out again. And if so. New cam time lol
