Default Poor man's boost by gear

Was trying to think of a way to make my car hook better with a radial last night. Boost by gear came to mind. After pondering a lot I came up with a diagram that would let me switch from low to high boost at a specified mph. All done with a stock ecu, a 5 pin relay, and an ebc with an external switch input. Its more of a boost by speed, but whatever.

(Wire color is specific to my eBoost)

Just change the CAGS settings around to accommodate. Ill test it out in the next few days and see if I can perfect it. Let me know what you think!

Why not just hook your eboost up to a tach signal, and then use the output trigger to be set off by RPM which triggers the eboost into high boost mode?

Or, buy a adjustable timer thats triggered by release of 2 step etc, that then after X seconds kicks eboost into stage 2.

    Or just run an auto.

or a window switch with gear lockout...this will send a trigger to switch boost settings once it senses the rpm drop after the shift....they can be set to lock out 1-2-3 etc gears.

BUt great thinking out of the box on the first plan

Because anything over 10psi just fries the tires in 1st so idk how itd like an rpm trigger. I do like the timer idea.

Not sure I'm following ya. I know what a window switch and how that works, the gear lockout is what I'm lost at. Only lockout I know of is reverse.

the gear lock out works by counting the number of trips through the window

example: 1 gear locked out. 3k active/6.5k shutoff, 6.8k shift point

launch the car, reach 3k (doesn't activate)...then 6.5k....shift at 6.8k. Rpms drop to 5k, window switch activates and triggers high boost...6.5k back to low boost, shift at 6.8k rpms drop rinse & repeat.

These parameters can be programmed any way you want, you just need to pass the first off point to deactivate the lockout. This way you can peddle the car in first without triggering the high boost setting.

Another easy method would be to mount a micro switch to the gear shift that would be closed in first and then open on the 1-2 shift. The relay could then be wired to trigger low boost with the switch closed and high boost when open

Ahhhhhh gotcha. Have any Links to the product by chance?

I can set the CAGS output to act as a window switch in the stock ecu so that's already taken care of.
