It's cool, took me a bit to figure out. Not worrying about an opti is great, real time tuning with HPTuners is so much easier, and yea it thinks its an ls1.

Didn't FLP build that black Formula with the F1 Pro Charger on it? I have vids of it on my youtube. That sucks about Speed Inc, they looked like they did great work.

LSX's has made the GM tuning/install shops soft. I can't say I blame them. Doing any mod on a LSX is a lot easier on a LSX motor than a LTX motor, without the opti gremlins or fried PCM's.
At the shop I go to for tuning (Bluecat) 7 out of 10 LTX cars were all day headaches trying to figure out why things weren't working right. 9 times out of 10 it was opti related problems.Sean Foster

I get that, but I did not want to change whole tune that they did anyway, just to check trans to see if it was set to lock up in third and 4th because of burnt clutches when the stall was rebuilt. That can not be that complicated can it.

Where is Bluecat out of? he did Franks impala didn't he? If speed inc doesn't tune lt1's that's going to screw me bigtime on bringing my car to the shootout, I can't bring it if it's not tuned. 1sickta do you have any contact information for bluecat? I would appreciate it.

He's in KY but unfortanly he's not tuning LTX based PCMS anymore. Franks car was a rare event.

I've got stories on Speed Inc. I won't go into detail, but some of them are not good. Larry was always a good guy though, and they have good prices on parts.
On topic for the OP though, if you are looking at fairly local tuners to the Chicago area, Mike Norris does good work in Indy. He will be tuning my LTX again when I get it back together (which hopefully won't be too much longer).1995 Z28 - disfunctional now, perhaps insane after its "treatment"

I think I used mad tuner years ago. The guys name was Ion and he did a good job for me. But there's only so far you can get with a mail order tune.
