Someone elses thread made me wonder.....
Ok so the ac in the vette does not work... will removing the compressor assist in making (restoring parasitic power loss) more power?
If so... can i just yank the compressor and lines...and route the belt differently?

I doubt you will gain any performance but yes you will be losing a parasitic drain on the engine

the gain will be minimal as the compressor clutch isn't locked...you are only turning the pulley not the internals
1994 Formula, 396cid, AFR 227's, Single plane, and 2 of the big ones.

^^^This. Probably gain more from the weight reduction than anything else really.
1996 Z28 M6 K&N CAI, SLP Air Foil, Granatelli elbow, Hurst shifter, 3.42 gears, and chrome 10 spokes.

Its like doing the free mods ot our lt1s.... 1hp here and 1 hp there wont ever be noticed but we still do it.
And well...i know it dont work.. the car is a wiring ...cluttered nightmare under the hood. if i get rid of stuff its more pieces amd wires I can get rid of.
I wish I was not so embarrassed of the wiring nightmare that it is umder the hood...Id take some pics....
IE: The ac compressor is on a switch cause the 85 mechanicals and rhe 96 interior did not get along.
Same with the hvac blower motor... i can adjust the temp from the co troller...but the controller cant run the bllwer motor...that got its own switch.... lol... and there is MORE!
