Hey guys. Just a little update on this one. Finally took a day off work to knock this out. Found my pick up tube laying in the bottom of the oil pan like first thought. However, my car only had a 5/8" pick up tube on it but was a factory GM part. My car was an early 94, wonder if GM changed pick up tube sizes on the later ones. I know the full history of the car and it has never been replaced in the past. I modified my Jegs retainer to work since I bought one for a 3/4" pick up. Also found the main source of my oil leak. The bearing in my water pump drive had a good 1/4" plus worth of movement in it. Luckily I had a good spare and the GM tools to pull it out and press it back into the block. Hopefully will have it back together this weekend. Decided to leave engine in car and drop kmember out. Not sure I would go that route again unless I had access to a lift.

Glad you got your problem figured out. They made the switch in 94'.
