I've been down this road with taking offers over the phone/text. They will Jew you down over the phone then when they get there (if they even show up) they want to offer you even less. Best thing to do is say, "I'm negotiable on the price, come look at it and make me an offer. I don't take offers over the phone."

Tell him to come look at it and we will talk about the price then...then when he gets there tell him $4400....I always had a saying...cars on your feet and price on your seat. Sell the car, then negotiate the payment.
