Hip injuries are like knee injuries and lower back injuries..they suck....once your base is weakened... its hard..
I blew my right lateral meniscus on my right knee doing squats...I was maxing..yeah...um....I went down like a ton of crap...
Had it repaired..they were going to remove it, but mine is freakishly thick.. so they fixed it....it still acts up...

OK, finally got a few minutes to document yesterday....
This is the paperback version.
DEPOSITION OF THE CHIEF SET FOR 9:30am
My atty and I meet in the lot at 9:00 ish
We talk and set up our game plan.
He has multiple pages of notes, and I jotted information about questions to ask.
We enter the building, the BOSS does a double take when he sees me walking in.
We walk inside, my atty goes to the can, I loudly and cheerfully say, HEY CHIEF, HOW ARE YOU....
He mumbles to me.
930, we all go into conference room.
Deposition begins while sitting at a long table.
CHIEF at head of table, his atty next to him, my atty next to his atty. Court reporter on other side of Chief.
I am at the opposite end of the table.
His atty begins by saying that this deposition is in lue of actual court room testimony and that if there are any objections to anything, they SHOULD be noted, and the questions answered then the JUDGE can decide whether he wants to take things into consideration.
So we begin, his atty, begins by asking some simple questions, name, address... do you know Ofc Hanna....yada yada yada.
He asks Boss how long I have been a Police Officer, Chief answers wrong, and adds 1 year to my career, NO BIGGIE.
His atty enters one piece of evidence. A letter from the Cheif to Me in Sept ordering me back to work full duty.
Asks if he sent that to me.... why he sent that to me... and that was it.
My atty begins.... Over all we entered 15 pieces of evidence:
HIGHLIGHTS:
-Police report from the night I was injured, which documents my injury.
-Email to Chief same night which he acknowledged that I advised him that I was injured.
-Police reports from the folowing shift showing the Chief had me return to work the following day for another shift after an on duty injury was reported. TISK TISK...
(chief begings to become uncomfortable... he has now begun answering questions with questions, "where are you going with this.")
THATS RIGHT CHIEF (if your reading this... the lawsuit is coming.)
We continue.
My atty asks him, WHY IS OFFICER HANNA WORKING FROM 12 noon to 8pm
chief advises him, BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE I ASSIGNED HIM
My atty asks, WELL WHY HAVE YOU NOT PAID HIM THE SHIFT DIFERENTIAL
Chief cockily answers, because the COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT CONTRACT DOES NOT AKNOWLEDGE THAT SHIFT AS A REAL SHIFT.... MID SHIFT IS FROM 3p-3A.
My atty says. SO YOU ARE ORDERING OFFICER HANNA TO WORK A SHIFT THAT WAS NOT CONTRACTUALLY AGREED UPON???? THAT SOUNDS LIKE A PROBLEM (remember, this is also my UNION atty).
chief has no response
my atty says, WELL LET ME ASK YOU THIS, WHY HAS OFFICER HANNA BEEN REQUIRED TO USE HIS ACCUMULATED LEAVE TIME TO GO TO APPOINTMENTS FOR HIS WORK RELATED INJURY?
Chief explains : ANY OFFICER WHO GOES TO PERSONAL APPOINTMENTS MUST USE THEIR LEAVE TIME
my atty asks again: BUT KNOWING THAT THIS IS A WORK RELATED INJURY, YOU CONSIDER THAT A PERSONAL APPOINTMEN?
Cheif says: OUR PEOPLE TELL US THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH HIM
My atty says, WELL WHY DO YOU HAVE HIM WORKING IN THE OFFICE ?
Chief explains BECAUSE HE IS NOT QUALIFIED WITH HIS HAND GUN.
My atty says, HE IS NOT
Chief says, WELL HE JUST DID ON MONDAY
My atty says, SO YOU ORDERED HIM BACK FULL DUTY, ITS IN YOUR LETTER THERE... THEN YOU DONT QUALIFY HIM FROM SEPT 2012 till MARCH 2013... HOWEVER YOU MAKE HIM WORK IN THE OFFICE ON AN NON CONTRACTUAL SHIFT, AND DONT GIVE HIM HIS SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL, AND HE HAS TO USE HIS LEAVE TIME TO GO TO MED APPOINTMENTS FOR A WORK RELATED INJURY... DO I HAVE THAT CORRECT.
Chief looks at his atty, and asks, DO I HAVE TO ANSWER THAT?
Chief, (hesitantly) YES, BUT OUR PEOPLE SAY HIS INJURY IS NON EXISTANT.
My atty laughs.
My atty asks, SO WE HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT OFFICER HANNA HAS BEEN BROUGHT BACK FULL DUTY... HERE IS CONTRACT SECTION xxxx WHICH STATES THAT ALL FULL TIME POLICE OFFICERS WILL BE ISSUED BOOT ALLOWANCE ANNUALLY CORRECT?
Chief replies YES
My atty asks, WELL WHY HAS OFFICER HANNA NOT RECEIVED HIS FOR 2011, 2012, and now 2013.
Chief replies, BECAUSE I HAVE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR BOOTS FOR HANNA IN 2011, THAT HE CLAIMS HE NEVER RECEIVED.
My atty asks, 2011??? YOU MEAN THE YEAR THAT HANNA WORKED TILL THE 26th OF JANUARY BEFORE HE WAS INJURED? YOU ORDERED HIM BOOTS THEN? WHAT DID YOU DO, PICK OUT A PAIR YOU LIKE AND TRY THEM ON????? EITHER WAY, WE ARE IN 2013.
Chief responds: WELL THE SECRETARY ADVISED OFFICER HANNA THAT HE COULD GET BOOTS WHEN HE IS FULL DUTY.
Atty says, SO NOW YOUR SECRETARY IS THE GO TO PERSON WHO MAKES EQUIPTMENT DECISIONS IN YOUR PD? I SEE.
This banter went on and on... and I know there is alot more I am not including for the sake of redundancy and time... but it was fantastic... and the best part.....
The entire time, he only ONCE made eye contact with me.

Hahahaha rock on! Your attorney is kicking ass, if this is how it's gonna go down in a courtroom, then you're all set man. Just gotta wait it out until the court date, unless your attorney can somehow swing some magic and speed up this whole process. I'm thinking you should go for blood and sue the chief for his job
