When they say to only hand tighten a PVC fitting -- only hand tighten.
Quick run to the local hardware shop to get a new braided line and the toilet is fixed again.

Yes, yes I was.
I found a $20 kit from Lowes which replaces all the guts in the bowl of the tank but then I had a leak at the supply line. Tried to add a new rubber gasket and then put it back together but alas overtightened and cracked the PVC nut.

thats what i wanted to do, but he is going to let me just do a H/C/I LT1 with gears and a stall....im down for that. I know it probably will not be anything super fast, but it will be fun and i can always build a real racrcar at a later date

First, I am not good at or really know anything about home repair, I did what you did to the toilet in my 3rd floor loft. After making the mistake you did, I got it all fixed and the leaks stopped, then dropped the tank top and busted the tank. I just shut off the water and shut the door.
