Heads have a set of Comp 987s, switching them out to a fresh set of springs is no big deal when the heads are off. All the head hardware is what came with the heads, minus the guide plates which are GMPP.

Good luck with the build. Im interested to see what combo you end up going with.

Thanks, it's important to me to finish this 398 project and this car for that matter. I've had this car for 13 years, when I was 16 I told my friends I would be putting a 396 in the car at some point and every one told me it wouldn't happen. Cars come a long way, I am just tired of seeing this thing sit, I have tried to fix the things wrong with it but I want to drive this thing all over the place like I did when it was bolt ons. So I am really leery on what goes in because I don't want any thing I am going to hate driving or constantly breaks.

I know this story all to well. I'm on motor number 3 in this car only bc I couldn't figure out what combo i wanted to go with and stick with it. I've come to realize that Forced induction is expensive as hell especially when you want to make north of 600+hp so then I decided to go back High Compression and spray it only to find out it can be just as expensive when doing it right. *sigh*

    Still won't have a 396 though.
