    So I pulled the mock motor out today and stripped it down to take to the machine shop. I knew it had a broken crank in it. What I didn't know was how bad it jacked up the block.uploadfromtaptalk1353458393823.jpguploadfromtaptalk1353458406795.jpguploadfromtaptalk1353458417617.jpg
    When I got the car it would actually run. It obviously sounded like hell but it would start and idle. Unfortunately it pushed the front part of the crank into the main caps and wore the piss out of them. There is an edge rolled on each main from the crank being thrust into them. They are actually discolored with a blue tinge so I'm not going to chance it. I'm going to tear another one down tomorrow. This one spun a rod bearing so fingers crossed....

    Its a GM crank. Ive always heard that broken factory cranks are a rarity, and this was a stock motor with a b body cam. Guy said he was coming off of a interstate ramp and it went kablooey.

    Damn.... I have heard the same thing.. as the strength of factory cranks were stronger than many after market cast cranks.

    Yes actually! We got cad drawings made up for the brackets today. Another member is going to help me out with getting them cut on his cnc router. Right now we are working on getting the th400 swap done in my dads camaro so I haven't been able to get the other block out to take to the machine shop. But that should be wrapped up in a few days.

    Finally got my spare (last on hand :eek: ) lt1 shortblock dug out and taken to the machine shop today. Also, my m122 brackets will be in Thursday. Things should start moving along quickly now
