The Flu
Uggh.. came home form work Wed and it hit me like a truck. Was on the throne with a bucket in my lap.. Wife got it last night.. just waiting for the kids. Anyone else here suffer from this yet? Hospitals here are swamped, some in PA have setup tents oustide. Local news is calling it an epidemic. A lot of ppl have died, unfortunatly some very young children. I didnt get the flu shot, but my wife did . She is a teacher and gets one every year. I think i have lost over 5 pounds. I am feeling a littel better today but am sore and pretty weak. This is no fun considering i still have about 15 stitches in my groin from my hernia surgery. The puking hurts bad..

Damn surgery stitches in your groin and the flu at one time, that sucks. Quite a few cases here but no tents at hospitals yet! I know a few people who have had it since Christmas and still aren't back to work. This is a pretty strong one.

Man that sucks. Get lots of rest, just because your feeling better don't mean your out of the woods yet.
I only had the flu once and that was 3 years ago. I lost over 20 lbs. I ended up having to go to the er. Because i was walking up the stairs on the 4th day of it. And passed out and fell backwards down the stairs into the wall.
The flu is a bad thing. You end up laying in the floor of the bathroom praying for god just to take you
Get to feeling better soon man. and try not to pop a stitch

I got it 2 days after x-mas. I was sick as hell for like 12 days. I had just started a new job the day after x-mas so I had to go to work while I was sick. Third day at work I got really dizzy and actually blacked out for a couple seconds, luckily I was able to sit down before I fell down. All 3 of my kids got it also, but not my wife. Looks like we found the carrier. I heard on the news today that this "type" of flu is immune to the flu shot. WTF?

I had it christmas eve, started puking at around 6, had 9 or 10 sessions of puking till I was empty and then some, then finally stopped at around midnight. Found out my dad had it right after me, like litteraly, he started puking at around midnight christmas eve, and stopped around 6 am, then found out my buddy had the same thing on christmas. My son had it a few nights before I did, and the wifey got off the easiest and had only puked twice the same night as my son, good thing for her since she's 5 months pregnant. Last weekend I got hit with something again, thankfully there was no throwing up this time, just feeling wore out and tired, and now a very annoying lingering caugh. Something that I foud out worked pretty good for me is alka seltzer cold plus, the old plop plop, fizz fizz stuff.

*knock on wood* I haven't had the flu like that in years... which is really amazing because I have an immune system deficiency. Every time someone coughs at work I cringe.

i hear that every year.. basically the flu shot is a strain of the past years virus so it makes sense the new one could be immune. I am feeling better now, just at some crackers and havent puked yet. you would figure with todays modern medicine flu epidemics would be a thing of the past. I lost a few family member backin the epidemic in like 1910 in New Castle DE
