On all the 4th Gen Firebirds, the motor is half way under the windshield making it very hard to work on!

I was very surprised how much room there is to work with. I've worked on f-bodies before and this is cake compared to them. Only somewhat hard time I've had is with changing the plugs. I came from Mustangs and did a full top end rebuild on a 5.0 and the LT1 seems similar (and easier) so I haven't had a hard time doing much so far. Only thing I don't like is that damn optispark.

FINALLY! I knew it was only a matter of time untill an fc guy came along...I've got a 1990 gxl shell sitting at my house I'm planning on doing the swap with..

True I've owned 3 fbodies and only had one go out and it was from a cracked cap letting moisture in. Owned one the last 5-6 years.

Thank you. Haven't had it on a scale yet but I've seen similar swaps around 2700-2800 without the driver. I'm a big boy (250 lbs) so with me it would be right around 3k probably.

3,000 is a good race-weight I wish I could get mine down to that weight.
