You know, Larry, you might just want to look at the whole PD ordeal you're going through as a blessing in disguise with the way the world is turning now. If you were still out working the streets, we might hear about you one of these days in the news

and nobody wants that. I'd say there's the silver lining in the mess you're going through. Be thankful you're safe and well, buddy

They're saying he left a note saying he was "doing what he loves to do - killing people." What a fucking nut job. But when they showed his picture on TV it was kind of one of those "...Well that makes sense now" moments. Guy looked like a deranged kermudgin of a troll.

I appreciate that... But at the same time i signed up to do my best to stop people like this, knowing the inherent risks..... And sitting behing a desk or staring down the metaphorical barrel of termination instead of being out there if something happens makes me feel even more useless...

I heard the guy killed someone with a hammer and went prison. During the trial he made a deal and pleaded guilty to manslaughter and did 12 years. Had the system worked he would be locked up and those fireman would still be alive. When someone kills another person with a hammer how is that not a red flag for mental issues? But they still let him out....

That in a nutshell is where the justice system fails. Murdered someone with a hammer... should have been executed immediately. Frankly sometimes I think society was much better when people were executed more readily like back in the wild west.
