    Default What cam adds best power for the LT1 with street ability

    I have a 383 setup with stock heads but bigger valves and a comp cam thumper cam (got at a good deal but dont like the cam) im looking for a cam swap but what cam adds the best power for this set up with decent street ability still.

    I wouldn't recommend anything bigger than a cc306 on stock heads.
    97 WS6 Trans Am 355 h/c/i and bolt-ons. 11.9829 @111.66 with a 1.6092 60ft mokan. 11.94 @112.26 1.603 60ft Kcir best 60ft 1.567 383 on it's way.
    08' 12.49 and faster bracket champ 09' bracket and 12.00 index champ.

    I'd call up AI or LE. They will get you set up with something nice.

    I can't recommend anything without knowing at least the SCR, gearing, stall [if it's auto], weight, goals, etc and neither could LE or anyone else. If you want to go custom have those things ready to discuss with a cam grinder, but I bet someone who would could get you a good custom camshaft won't want to leave those stock heads untouched, I know I couldn't.

    Post up the specs on that 'thumper' cam... and maybe create a detailed signature.

    I'm the only person you'll hear it from but I love DDing my comp xfi292 on stock heads! It is very streetable in my opinion. I love where the power comes in and how it's delivered, and most of all the nasty lope at an idle!
    This is a full weight m6 bolt on car with true duals
