    Default 96 Z28, spark questions.

Went to the drag strip few weeks ago, car died in line waiting to get in.

Just died, no funny noise, no shaking, no nothing. Like someone turned the key off.

Do opti's just die like that? I dont have that many miles on it.

It is like something came unplugged....but everything looks like its plugged in and working fine. It cranks over, and I can hear the fuel pump priming like normal and then going off after a few seconds.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The week earlier it was working perfect:

fast way to tell is check for current after the coil. of its there check for spark at spark plug wire. while someone cranks the car over. if spark is at coil. but not at plug wire. well you know the rest lol.

    what brand opti you running?

If it was idling and just died, I'd suspect ICM.

Spent yesterday messing around with this thing. Put the ICM into my dads truck and used his in my car, no difference.

Took the opti off and put my old one back on...car fires up. Runs like shit but it does run.

ill get a new one and put it on when the motor comes out this winter. I wanted to at least positive test it before I tear it apart to cam it. Since the car fires and runs, I know that everything else is fine.
