So the nova project is finished up now. Ive got a few weeks to mess with the monte carlo while dad gathers parts for his th400 swap in the camaro. I believe I'm going to drop in this l99 I have to use as a mock up for the m122 brackets and placement as well as the inter cooler piping. I'm even considering leaving it in there while I iron out the wiring harness and possibly even start it up to make sure the setup will work before putting the built engine in. So first step is going to be to por15 the undercarriage while its not freezing. Unfortunately I think I've missed my window of opportunity to paint the car so I'll work on the body last. During fabrication I would like to utilive the factory gt500 throttle body, if possible. It is a drive by wire system but there's got to be a way to convert it.

Here's a pic for comparison. Its a twin 60mm. Normally I would say its probably not necessary but the sc will be drawing air through it, not pushing. I didn't expect it to be as large as it is. I've got it so I might as well use it.

Oh yea. It'll be there. I don't know what class it will fit in or if it will be a contender but it'll be there.

I tried laying it in on the passenger side and without deleting the ac (which I won't do) it just wouldn't fit right without sitting it too far forward. I'm hoping I can get it low enough to fit under a 4" cowl but we'll see. Mounting it over the intake will allow me to bring the compressed air forward to the intercoolers and where the lt1 throttle body used to be will become and inlet to receive the cooled air. The throttle body will mount off the side of the charger like the factory gt500 does but I'll drop it down a bit to try and stay within the cowl. I've got an idea for mounting it and I'll be working with some models over the weekend. Going to make everything out of wood first before moving on to aluminum.

Neat build are you going to cut the frame for the ac compressor or does yours fit without cutting.

Definitely doesn't fit. I'm thinking about swapping placement of the compressor and alternator.

Made some pretty good progress on the wooden models tonight. Surprisingly everything seems to be coming along well. I should have the mock supports done tomorrow night and then I will move on to metal. I originally thought I would go with aluminum but I'm thinking I might go with steel. I dont have a way to weld aluminum and I don't think the weight reduction would be worth having to farm that part out. Here's tonight's pics. (Nevermind the shims in the front)
