I need help in deciding what to keep from the car I am going to sell or part out.
I want to keep enough to get the engine going in something as old as say a car from the 70s.
The donor car now is a 97 Trans-Am M6 that I am going to do the M6 conversion and engine swap to my 93 Z/28.
I will sell the car off after parting it or as a roller but the question I need answered is what do I keep if I wanted to run an LTX setup in an older car?
I need my knowledgeable friends out there to chime in and let me know because I dont want to let it go with stuff on it I may need later down the line for a cool project like I dunno a LTX powered early 240Z???If you don't stand behind our MIlitary then feel free to stand in front of them.<---- This is my oldest son (PROUD DAD HERE) Mike (just plain mad) Madman337 1993 Camaro Z/28 A4 all stock other than a muffler and LCAs @292K+ miles. 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche. 1970 Pontiac Firebird. 1972 Camaro, 1994 Corvette, 17 Fusion Sport AWD V6 Twin Turbo

PCM and engine harness is really all you'll need. Keep the clutch hydraulics/pedal as well. Drive shaft or just the transmission slip yoke. Could snag the gauge cluster if you wanted to try and retrofit it into the new car. You will most likely like to add your own fuel pump and hoses into the new car. Really all you need for the engine to run is the engine harness and PCM.

Thank you for the advice, I am going to use the engine and t56 in my 93 Z/28 A4 car to convert it over but will still keep what you said to keep incase I decide to build another V8 Vega or something like that.
I did kinda figure on the harness but since I have never done even an engine swap on one of these I thought I had better ask.If you don't stand behind our MIlitary then feel free to stand in front of them.<---- This is my oldest son (PROUD DAD HERE) Mike (just plain mad) Madman337 1993 Camaro Z/28 A4 all stock other than a muffler and LCAs @292K+ miles. 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche. 1970 Pontiac Firebird. 1972 Camaro, 1994 Corvette, 17 Fusion Sport AWD V6 Twin Turbo
