Ls7 supercharged 427 ( Golen Engines ) into a " Lt1 style " engine bay
Ok guys in the planning stages on this build is you guys see Im doing a Ls7 427 supercharged from Golen engines issue is this sticking all that into a "Lt engine bay, also keeping a OEM 97' SS hood" How to make this work ? Do I go with a roots style or a procharger ? Procharger puts all their pluming where the Ls air lid would be....I wont have that so what to do. Keep in mind this car really is a 2002 SS with a front bumper conversion 98-02 to a 93-97 (sleeper, sort of).

With a centrifugal blower, that should fit no problem. The LS7 is no dimensionally different than the LS motors that come in the factory setups.

Yea I dont think youll be able to get a roots style blower under the lt1 SS hood. Like fastbird said a centrifical blower would fit fine. Its been done a bunch of times before so Im sure you can research some other cars to see how they did it. Good luck with it

For an LS7.........Go with either a Vortech YSi or a Paxton Novi2000.

Ok, thanks guys I'll look into those two. So chad over at Golen asked me where I wanted to go with build. He informs me that he can do 850 hp and the car is still very street friendly. He then informs anything over 850 is 5k more and doesn't really have street manners.... Lol, manners. I guess 300 more horses over my lt1 should be pretty scary

I like Golen Engines, and Chad helped me immensely back on the day. But.......you're going about this the wrong way. JUST have Golen build the motor. Just tell him it's for a FI motor, etc. If you purchase the entire motor/blower as a package, you're going to pay out the ASS for it going through a single shop like that. Case in point: "Anything over 850 will be $5K more." I'm waving the flag on that one.

You can probably do the roots, LS guys have done it but it will require either spacing the k member to fit or notching the cowling if not both.
I love the instant torque from a roots but prochargers have a place in my heart, for your i would go F1 or F1A.
If you interested i might be able to help you get one a little cheaper then list price.2008 Corvette-full exhaust, tune and soon a custom cam
