Default Tuner Pro not connecting to computer

I am having trouble getting tuner pro to connect to the cars computer. The first time I tried connecting or anything it worked just fine, but now it wont connect. The cable is installed and the com ports match and when tested it says cable found and functional. I can get winflash to connect and read/program, but when I try to datalog with tuner pro it wont connect. What could the problem be?

Are you using the right acquisition file?

This seems to be a recurring problem. I wonder if there is a driver or software issue. I assume you've tried restarting the computer?
