Mal adjusted tranny linkage?
Hey guys can a mal adjusted trans linkage cause the tranny to shift funny? Just put the damn thing in over the weekend and now it's acting up!! WTF?!?! Shifts fine about 10-15 minutes of driving then after that it when it shifts from first to second it will pop out of gear for a fraction of a second then go into second. Like it's slipping!!! SONOFA.....Fluid if full!!

I think if your linkage wasn't right it would mess up consistantly. When was the last time you changed the fluid? Sounds to me like possibly a bad servo or a slight clog in the valve body. Cheapest options and what I would try first it double check the linkages, If its been awhile since the fluids been done drop the pan and change it and the filter, also try running some of that seafom trans fix iirc through it, that stuff works really well.

Just swapped trannys over the weekend (11/1) and fluids are full. No choice. I'm going to have to take it into the shop.

EDIT: hahahahahahahahaha... jeez im dumb.
yeah take it to a trans shop, sounds to me like you may have a few broken internals. mine did this when it went out when i had a 4l60e

Update!! Fluids were clean and full with no metal!!
Wanna hear something funny?! Took it to Aamco for one of their "free" inspections and it was a Saturday they were going to be closing at noon. The guy at the desk asked for me to come in at 11am. No prob so I get there and they are trying to finish up and go home for the day. Can't say I blame them! Anyway the guy who was doing the check on my car happen to be a Chevy guy who had also owned a f-body (96 Z28). He and I started talking cars and he showed me pics of his sic, blown, 9 second car!!! He was cool and actually told me a secrete about thier buiness that you may not believe!!
keep this on the down low. shhhh........regardless of what's wrong with your tranny, if anything, they will tell you that you need to have it rebuilt!! And I thought they were honest. Anyway he hoisted the car in the air and found a corroded wire on my main connector to the tranny and did a little repair job reset the computer and WAALAA!! Good as new!! Trans runs great with no futher problems. He was real cool and told the manager that I had a charging problem and a proper diognostic of the tranny would not be prossible until that's fixed. I was charged nothing since it was just a diognostic (they're free) and drove away happy!!
