    IIRC higher voltage coils were deemed the opti killers because the higher voltage created more o3 and thus more build up on the distributor cap rotors contacts...

    I ran a digi 6 for a year or 2. I did notice that the throttle response was not a crisp with out the box connected... FWIW, you only get the MSD (Multi Spark Discharge) function under 3k RPM. Anything higher its just driving your coil as the car normally would.

    Another benefit of running a ignition box is the voltage and current supplied to the coil will usually be higher than in a factory configuration. Since the ignition box gets its own dedicated power wire and the wires feeding the coil are usually bigger than the stock wires...
