Could you have possibly damaged one of the maf wires while changing the air filter?

Is it happening just during idle, or while driving.... or just after beating the snot out of it?

I had the same issue with a few primaries on my headers. they were glowing bright red. I never completely solved it. adjusting the valves seemed to help but I spun a couple mains before it was fixed.

wondering if its extremely low fuel pressure causing a lean condition at idle .........fuel pump/filter...........check the pressure.....17:1 afr or so at idle will still let it idle and will make shit orange........
