    Default Random leak

My 96 Formula started leaking. Its coming from the front of the motor..behind the crank pulley? Thing is, its so slow...it took me 3 mins to watch it pool up on the motor then drip once. Problem is, I try to check the small puddle to see if its oil or what, and I cant tell by smell or anything. Hmm. Since october, I barely went under the full mark on my dipstick...what the hell? I do lose some antifreeze over time. However, I am pretty sure this isnt. I will be jacking the car up and crawling under it to see if its oil or antifreeze. First thing that came to my mind was Oil pan gasket, second was water pump, third was timing cover gasket. Its directly in the middle of the front of the engine.

Check the front intake manifold to block seal. It could be running down the front of the block. There are several seals on the front of the engine that could be leaking as well as coolant from the weep hole. Gonna have to get in there with a flashlight and go hunting.

Yeah, soon as my garage is resituated, I am pulling her in and jacking her up. Gonna clean the surfaces and keep track of build up. I am hoping its the intake manifold honestly...I want an excuse to redo the top end...lol.

I have a leak like that, it was coming from my crank position sensor in the bottom of the timing cover

Thats what mine kinda looks like...because its coming from behind the harmonic balancer, which is where the crankshaft position sensor is correct? My car has been completely randomly missing/hesistating lately. Except at WOT.

Yeah that's edsactly where it is. Mine has a little bit of a miss at WOT but runs great down low and midrange lol

It confuses me though. I cant distinguish if its oil or what, weird I know. But I dont seem to be losing oil...though I do believe I am losing antifreeze more than usual...maybe its the water pump drive seal, and its running all the way down and pooling on the CPS, making our cars run weird? I am no expert on LTx series motors though....

I don't think that would be the cause of our issues,.only if the water or oil was actually seeping into the connector, the actual sensor, which is inside the timing cover, is always covered in oil. Check the weep hole on your water pump.
I know for a fact my leak is oil and its just so slow I can't notice any change in my oil level.
