350 vs 355
I'm building a budget block for this year and I was wondering is there a big dyno diffrance in performance or what's ur guess opinion its going to hot cam with ported heads intake and 52 mm throttle body

Depends on who ports the heads. I had a 355 with a cc306 1.6 rockers and on ported stock heads from a local guy who admitted it being his first set still ran 12.16@110 with just a mail order tune. He knows more about those heads now and has done another set that flowed over 15cfm more than mine without any issues. A hot cam will be ok just get it dyno tuned.

If you're asking if there's more to be had on a 355 versus a 350 with both engines having equivalent valvetrain, then no. There is a difference but it's miniscule and not particularly measurable.
And why the hotcam, ESPECIALLY when used with ported heads? There are much better options out there.-Joe-

I agree with Ram Air. The hot cam was good many years back. But cam selections are much better now. Cams will make much more power than the hot cam. The hot cam was designed with stock heads in mind... 355 and 350 are so close in displacement that power losses or gains between the 2 are negligible. Just about the only thing you will notice (if everything is the same between the 2) is a change in where the power is made. Say a 350 makes 400 hp at 5000 rpm. If you took that same engine out to a 355, you power band will mover lower. IE. 400Hp at 4400RPM.

If the cylinder walls are still good don't bother. You won't pick up any noticeable power (literally you might gain a couple of ft lbs of torque).
