What you get and what it costs depends on what level of porting you want done. A search would have given you quite a few answers. There are several reputable shops across the country that are capable of very good quality porting. There are 2 that are well known in the LTX world and have customers nationwide. They are Advanced Induction and lloyd Elliott's Portworks. Both shops have various levels of porting on various castings and are very knowledgeable at what they do. Don't bother asking which one's better as they both have their pro's and cons. It's know by both sides of customers that they are both capable of doing great work. What are you working on, what's already done, and what do you want out of it, street/ strip, street only, drag only, road coarse etc. Post some info and maybe we can help you make a choice as to what the most budget friendly way is to accomplish it.

I have a 97 firebird wit some bolt ons but fairly stock. My plans are to spunk it up a bit, maybe 375. Some upgrades i had in mind was some head work, decent street cam, with intake and throttle body. Thought i would pick some brains before i committed to anything and take some advice. Not wanting to dig into the bottom end if i don't have to. It gets out maybe a few times a week to play on the weekends so its not like i drive it daily.

I'd look into full bolt ons, a tune, a converter if it's an A4, and upgrade the suspension with good tires. You won't have a ton invested, and it'll be a blast to drive with DD reliability. Once that's done if it's still not enough then look into upgrading the heads/cam. At least then you should have all the supporting mods out of the way to take full advantage of the swap.

Depending on your mileage if/when you decide to do heads/cam you'll really step up the cost just from the "while your in there" theme everyone gets into! One thing to keep in mind is the build the car for the engine not the engine for the car. A HP increase is no fun if you can't lay it down.
