Lol. The weatherby is probably the best bang for the buck for an accurate out of the box rifle. They guarantee 1 moa or better from the factory. As for the caliber (.308 vs. 300 wm) its a toss up. There are die hard
.308 guys but it seems the new emerging long range caliber is the win mag. I believe its going to come down to how consistant a guy keeps his reloads as to how accurate his rifle will be.

well right know i think i am falling more to the 300wby, i have been doing a LOT of online research, and been talking to a lot of people. and to me the WBY just seems to be a slightly better round on paper. i have never shot a 300, but i have shot a Weatherby 270, 257, and 7mm. and all three calibers where very smooth, and first time with the weapon i was on target (~200yards) with in 3 shots. but as far as them "Big" rounds that about all the experience i got. but it also seams that most people veer away from the Weatherby's because the slightly higher price with them.

Higher price, fewer choices of rifles available, and less marketing. It doesn't make it a bad choice, just less popular and because of that, fewer people are going to be able to give you fair comparisons. Just like ltxtech.com, if you find a good forum of 300 wby followers they will be able to make sure you will get the best performance out of your rifle. Im sure you'll be satisfied with just about any modern high powered .30 caliber cartridge. They weatherby brand of rifles in general is a good choice.
