I made the overlay to cover the corvette script. I used some carbon fiber strips from mcmaster carr http://www.mcmaster.com/#carbon-fiber/=exm23t
I held them on the FRCs with 3M emblem tape, and the camaro was from 4th circle designs. They are V6 camaro side badge overlays.
As for cutting up the FRC's I followed this guide for 1993's:

You dont need to trim much for the fuel rail fittings on NON 93 cars, but I had to hack a good amount to clear mine. Also I had to not thread in the studs all the way. They still sit fine, but 1993 had weird fuel lines that made for less room on the drivers side. Pass side all I cut was for the alt bracket which i have removed now.

I may give them a try again. My last LT1 was an automatic with traction control, so there was all sorts of extra crap in the way. Thanks for the links, those pics on the intructions are pretty rough aren't they. Next time I'll just do little snips at a time. Thanks for the links.
