Mini Spool 7.5 10bolt
Ive been looking to a mini spool for some time now, and want to hear opinions from those who have used one. My car is track only, the only turns it will see is off a trailer and the shutdown area. My posi is in great shape considering it has seen 10-20 1.6 60's.
Is a mini spool with c-clip eliminators worth it over a stock LT1 posi until I can afford a 12 bolt?96 Z28 (SS Clone) 12.60@106 1.66 60'

If you are not having problems getting both tires to spin at the track with the posi, you probably will not benefit much from a mini spool. They do not make c-clip eliminators last time I checked for the 7.5 10 bolt. I have heard of people using the 8.5 eliminators and drilling the bolt holes to make them fit, but I have not really looked into it so take that with a grain of salt. A cheaper option (which is not recommended but I have read some decent results here and there) is welding the spider gears in an open carrier.

I wouldnt put a nickel into a 10-bolt. It will still have the weak ring and pinion in it and tiny axles/axle tubes.

Ive only added gears so far, and have had good luck with it.

A 10 bolt will be decent behind an auto car launching lazy (like mine). I am doing gears, girdle, rebuild, solid spacer and mini spool this winter in mine. I have the utmost faith in it that it will be fine. I have a 2.52 first gear and 28" tall tire. As long as I foot-brake it I should be okay. OP let me know how that mini spool works out for you if you do it

Even in an auto car they can snap. Once you get to the 1.60 60 foot level, and are flirting with low 12's you are playing with fire.

I put one in mine. I didnt even get a pass off before I destroyed it. Snapped the center pin and mushroomed the center of the spool. Save your money. I saw after the fact that your susposed to upgrade the center pin.....

Mini spool fits inside of an open carrier. Full spool is the carrier.
