Default What size tires should I use for the fronts

I currently have 275/45/17s on all 4. These are the SS 10 spoke rims so I belive they are 9.5 inch rims.

I desperately need to replace my fronts. I am thinking about getting a smaller size up front. I am thinking about 245s? 255s? How would it ride with have 275 on the rear? Anyone else do a similar setup?

i think you need to search around a bit. i'm running 315s on 18x11s on all four corners. lots of guys run smaller on the front than the rears, shouldnt be a problem

Id just run 275s again. I think it looks a lot better with a good wide tire on the front and back, and then you still have the option of rotating. Also 275s are very cheap.

I run 275's all the way around and like the look, feel, and ride. I would like larger tires in the rear (305-315's), but would stay with 275's up front, but that's just me. One of the issues you get with wider tires up front is they like to grab the ruts. The wider they are, the more they grab. At least that is my experience.

245/45R17's are too small in my opinion. They looked really stretched and leave your lip of the wheel exposed. I have 255/40R17's on the front of my WS6 and they look "ok".

Honestly, just put a 275/40 back on it. I think the 255/40's I have were only 5 bucks a tire cheaper than the 275/40's in the same style.

I run 275/40's on all four corners, and I really like the way they look and handle, and being able to rotate them and get more life out of the tires is very nice too. So my vote would be same size tire all the way around.

If you are trying to run smaller tires to save money, think about it this way, are the next 2 years or so worth saving $20 by having small looking tires? Its literally pennies a day to have the right size tires on there. If you think it will look good, it won't. These cars really need wide tires.
