    Default Colored Calipers

I've had a set of C5 powdercoated calipers sittin in my garage for about 3 years now waiting on me to get around to installing them. Now I'm wondering if colored calipers are even in style anymore. I don't really see them much these days. I'm kinda on the fence on just installing them or stripping them first.

    Thoughts?

I had red c5's on my car and then painted them black to be a bit more subtle. If you have aftermarket stuff I think they look good to be showed off but with stock stuff I would just clean it up. All depends on the car

I always thought the subtle little things made all the difference in the appearance. I personally don't think people who paint thier brake calipers bright colors like red or yellow know what they are doing to their car, as I really don't think brake calipers are meant to attract more attention than the car itself.

I think the best way to go would be to paint them flat black, then get some stencils and paint red "Z28" or "Camaro" in small but noticable letters. That, or I am always a sucker for silver calipers, then maybe do the same red stencil idea on silver instead.

I think it adds a bit of color to break it up. Mine is all silver and black so I have red accents which works good.

Might have 2 questions going on here.
    1. Bright colored calipers or not?
    2. Corvette lettering on the calipers or not?

If you have unmodified C5 Z06 red powder coated calipers then probably have the corvette lettering on them. I think having parts with Corvette lettering on them on cars that aren't a vette doesn't look right.

On my C5 Z06 calipers, I sanded/grinded down the corvette letters, made it smooth, and spray painted them graphite gray. I like the gray color because it makes the calipers stick out a little bit but still blend in enough where it's not the first thing your eyes see jumping out at you. It depends on the car though if bright colored calipers will work.

So, I'm leaning towards not going with bright colors and absolutely not going with them if they have the corvette letters on them.

They're white with orange lettering so I would guess you'd call them bright. The lettering happens to say Corvette though. My thought process when I had them coated was Corvette is like a brand. Kinda like Brembro. You see colored Brembro's with highlighted letters. I think they would look killer when rolling down the street, but not so much when static. I think I've posted pics of them on here before.

    Thanks for the responses.
