Just wondering if anyone else has had anything like this happenn to them.. About 3 years ago or so both my parrents were diagnosed with cancer.. Dad with prostate cancer and mom with thyroid cancer.. Both made a great recovery after surgery and have been fine since.. Then about 4 months ago a girl who i went to school with her dad was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.. He died this past monday.. It has just had me in a terrible gloomy state since.. I just keep thinking that it could of been one of my parents who died.. Just a sad thought really my heart goes out to her family

It seems like a lot of illness is popping up lately. My best bud's dad just found out he has terminal pancreatic and liver cancer yesterday. It's so sad.

Cancer is definitely a very serious illness in which thousands of lives are lost each year. Depending on the type, state and car received, recovery is definitely possible. A good buddy of mine's father was diagnosed with cancer a few years back and it was a pretty drawn out battle but he seems to be in pretty good shape and back to his day to day life. My buddy was very fortunate to be able to keep his father in his life.

That being said, I'm sure each board member here knows at least one or two family members or friends that have died in result of cancer. Both of my grandparents on my fathers side passed away due to lung cancer, even though only my grandma smoked, and she stopped back in the 80's before passing away in 1999.

The best thing you can do is try to be there for her in the same way that you would want her to have been there for her had your parent(s) passed away due to cancer a few years back.

I lost my mother to colon cancer. It was very hard to watch waste away for an entire year. I miss her so much. I'm glad your parents are ok. Hug them and tell them you love them as often as you can.

my mom died of lymphnoid cancer (lymphoma) in feb 2010 i was there when she died, docs told us she wasnt gonna live in December 09 they gave her untill march 2010, i mean it sucks losing a parent, lucky my mom was super strong and super tough and i talked with her about death and what she wanted to have happed after she died, i made sure i did what she wished ..

all i can say is that this type of stuff happens in life theres nothing you can do but move on, i know for a fact my mother would have hated it if me my sisters and dad all ended up depressed because of her death its something she would not have wanted. One thing tho the lessons she / anyones parents passed on to them mean ALOT more when there gone.

and like LT1 runner says love them as much as you can now once there gone there gone.

My Dad had lung cancer and pulled through and so did my aunt (his sister) now her husband has it and is not doing so great. My dad is also in critical condition at the moment and its very hard. All you can do is pray for the people that need it and keep your hopes up. Fact is everybody has to go sometime and its always hard when its someone you really care about. Keep your chin up man, youll get through it!!!

Funny how life throws you curveballs.. I was just reading this thread less than 30 mins ago and my dad just called to tell me my great aunt has cancer. We just found out and we aren't even sure what type it is, we believe its either ovarian cancer or stomach cancer.
